"Don't Wait. Vaccinate." The Pennsylvania Department of Health is giving parents just five days to prove their child or children have received all state-required immunizations. If no proof is given after day five, your child or children will not be allowed to attend school. This is a NEW rule and will take effect the first day of the 2017/2018 school year.
Children in ALL Grades need the following immunizations for attendance:
* 4 doses of tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (1 dose on or after 4th birthday)
* 4 doses of polio (4th dose on or before 4th birthday)
* 3 doses of hepatitis B
Seventh through 12th Grade ADDITIONAL immunization required for attendance:
* 2 doses of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV)
-- First dose is given 11-15 years of age; a second dose is required at age 16 or entry into 12th grade.
-- If the dose was given at 16 years of age or older, only one dose is required.
* 1 dose of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap)
Detweiler Family Medicine & Associates and the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Human Services have joined forces to ensure your child or children have the immunizations they need to begin the 2017/2018 school year. Please be sure to bring your child/s vaccine record with you on the day of the clinic.
